Easy Tandoori Turkey w/ Grilled Onions: Date Added: 30 Jul 2011

Ingredients

Turkey Marinade
16-Ounces plain, low-fat yogurt
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
3 Cloves garlic, minced
3 Tablespoons curry powder
2 Teaspoons ground cinnamon
To Taste salt and pepper
1 Pound TURKEY TENDERLOINS

Rice
2 Cups uncooked basmati rice

Grilling
2 Small white onions, peeled and cut into quarters

Cooking Instructions

Turkey Marinade
1. Whisk together yogurt, oil, garlic, curry powder and cinnamon in a medium bowl. Pour marinade into a quart-size zipper bag.
2. Season turkey with salt and pepper. Add to the zippered bag, seal and shake. Marinate, refrigerated, for 30 minutes to 2 hours.

Rice
1. Prepare basmati rice according to package directions.

Grilling
1. Preheat grill or broiler.
2. Remove turkey tenderloins from zippered bag and place on grill rack. Brush with more marinade.
3. Place onion wedges on grill rack.
4. Grill turkey and onions for 5 minutes, then turn and baste turkey with more marinade. Discard remaining marinade.
5. Grill turkey and onions 5-7 more minutes, until meat thermometer, inserted in the center, reaches 165 degrees F and onions are soft.
6. Divide turkey, onions and cooked basmati rice between 4 plates.
